What if the government could find a way to remove all destructive emotions? In author Heather Anastasiu's debut novel Glitch the Community has removed certain human feelings and thoughts are replaced by a feed. Wouldn't it be nice if someone could just take all bad feelings away?! Or are those feelings a part of what makes life worth living?

I'm in love with this cover, looks a bit like Across the Universe by Beth Ravis but I can totally forgive that! Looooove that purple color. |
Why am I pining for Glitch by Heather Anastasiu?
Computer chips inside human brains is an idea that both terrifies and interest me at the same time. What if they were misused like in Glitch? Now that is one scary scenario, I love my computer as much as the next gal' but I wouldn't want a motherboard stuck in my brain. No thanks. the computer belongs on my desk not in my head. Not having destructive emotions would seem like a great thing, at first, but how would we learn to appreciate the good things when we have nothing to compare them with?
Synopsis borrowed from Goodreads:In the Community, there is no more pain or war. Implanted computer chips have wiped humanity clean of destructive emotions, and thoughts are replaced by a feed from the Link network.Add Glitch to your Goodreads shelf
When Zoe starts to malfunction (or "glitch"), she suddenly begins having her own thoughts, feelings, and identity. Any anomalies must be immediately reported and repaired, but Zoe has a secret so dark it will mean certain deactivation if she is caught: her glitches have given her uncontrollable telekinetic powers.
As Zoe struggles to control her abilities and stay hidden, she meets other glitchers including Max, who can disguise his appearance, and Adrien, who has visions of the future. Both boys introduce Zoe to feelings that are entirely new. Together, this growing band of glitchers must find a way to free themselves from the controlling hands of the Community before they’re caught and deactivated, or worse.
In this action-packed debut, Glitch begins an exciting new young adult trilogy.
